Siren's Song

Can you hear it? The whispering spirit.
What can it want of me?
Is it her? Cannot tell for sure.
I wish that I could see!
That haunting tune. Calling out the moon.
Casting shadows upon the land.
I chase that sound. seaward bound.
Following steps wet in the sand.
A beauty does loom. Is she my doom?
Out there on the waves.
Her beckoning call. Upon emerald waters I fall.
I feel my soul she saves.
Reaching for the banshee.
The lady laughs at me and wafts beyond my reach!
I cry out in alarm! cold creeps up my arm.
My corpse lies cold on the beach.
